EARLY CHILDHOOD DIVISION
Movement is as natural and essential to young children's lives as tender loving care.
What is the early childhood program at the JP Gallery?
The basis of the program is designed with a balance of rhythmic and expressive movement together with locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative skills. Students will acquire knowledge about movement and about their own limitations and abilities through carefully designed weekly lesson plans. The children will successfully develop a repertoire of motor skills that will help them cope with their environment, develop self-confidence, and build strong healthy bodies. In a similar fashion, they will acquire positive attitudes through the program that encourages feelings of caring for people and sharing successful, happy learning experiences.
How does the program work?
Our early childhood program focuses on the three areas of development: physical, cognitive, affective. Below are examples of what our students work on in each class.
